Reiki in Japan

Twice each year we offer a once in a lifetime opportunity to take your Reiki I/II or Reiki Master training in Dr Usui’s homeland, Japan.

We take between 6 and 10 students each visit, and over the last 4 years have had students from four continents and eight countries.

The course takes place in Kyoto, the traditional heart of Japan, home of the famous golden temple, geisha, and other historic sights. We stay in a traditional ryokan or Japanese inn.

In Kyoto there is the opportunity for sightseeing and cultural exchange . The highlight of our visit will be a day trip to Mount Kurama, the birthplace of Reiki. This is where Dr. Usui meditated for 21 days and received the Reiki healing energy. Kurama has many different frequencies and patterns of high energy. We will hike up to the top for a meditation, and on the way back down enjoy an outside bath at the local hot spring ‘onsen’.

The full two-days of teaching will be spread out throughout the week. We will visit a Buddhist Temple where we will join in a Zen meditation. There is an opportunity to attend a calligraphy class and gain an insight into the world of a Geisha walking through Gion.
